Description
Learn about developing integrated CS lessons using a backward design approach with CodeVA's new tools and processes. Participants will be given resources and procedures to help them create powerful integrated lessons that can engage students in meaningful computer science learning.
Course Objectives
- Provides an overview of new tools and approaches using backward design for building an integrated lesson
- Provides opportunities to analyze existing lessons
- Introduces the CodeVA Alignment Guides as a launching point for integrated lesson planning
Prerequisites
Audience
Educators from grades K-8 and all content areas, as well as any staff supporting student learning.
Knowledge Level
Intermediate - Participating educators need a basic knowledge and understanding of the CS SOLs.
Registration Notes
CodeVA professional learning is free for Virginia and DC public school educators, preservice students and educators, and Dept. of Defense Education Activity teachers.
Tuition applies to all out of state and private school educators. You can find out tuition costs HERE.
