Description
Engage with computer science integrated lessons on a deeper level by learning to deeply analyze and provide feedback on lessons. This session will equip computer science coaches with the tools and skills to lead their teams to successful computer science integration using an iterative process that includes feedback.
*When attending this course, please bring an existing integrated computer science lesson to analyze with you to the course.
Course Objectives
- Provides opportunities for participants to analyze existing lessons (I do, you do)*
- Explore giving feedback - crucial conversations, beyond lip service to computer science (it's not just robots)
- Learning how to acknowledge assessment and ensure assessment and the standards are at the heart of every lesson
- Learning to build on prior knowledge and determine what's next
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the following three courses preferred:
Audience
Educators from grades K-8 and all content areas, as well as any staff supporting student learning, but is most useful for instructional coaches, instructional technology staff, instructional leaders and those wanting to coach others on CS Integration.
Knowledge Level
While open to all educators, regardless of knowledge, this course is intended for those with intermediate to advanced knowledge. Participating educators should have significant knowledge and experience implementing the Computer Science Standards of Learning and be prepared to share that knowledge to coach other teachers on implementation.

CodeVA professional learning is free for Virginia and DC public school educators, preservice students and educators, and Dept. of Defense Education Activity teachers.
